Short St. Jude Novena: The Sacred Heart Prayer

This is the little prayer behind all those "Thank you, Saint Jude" notices in the newspapers. Many people learned it from a grandmother, or found it on a worn card tucked into a missal. It takes less than a minute, which makes it a good companion for hospital waiting rooms, long drives and the middle of the night.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world, now and forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us. Saint Jude, worker of miracles, pray for us. Saint Jude, help of the hopeless, pray for us.

Pray it nine times a day, for nine days, holding your intention in your heart. By long custom, those who pray it promise to make Saint Jude's help known once their prayer is answered.

When that day comes for you, you can keep that promise here by sharing your story. Every story is read by a real person before it appears.

If you have a little more time, the traditional Novena Prayer to Saint Jude is prayed once a day for nine days.
